Does A tentacle tormentor cast Recant Magic or Phobocancel. According to Zam it's Phobocancel.

According to my logs, the emote reads "You feel very dispelled." It indeed strips 4 buffs and is a tight AOE.

Recant Magic has a different emote and probably strips more than 4 buffs. It's not an AOE.
The emote and number of buffs stripped match Pillage Enchantment, however that is a single target spell, not an AOE either.
According to ZAM, Phobocancel should emote "You feel a bit dispelled", cancel 4 buffs, and be AOE. Incidentally, this spell matches the emote for the phoboplasm's proc, which is also a 4 slot AOE dispel. And given the similar name, Phobocancel was probably designed primarily for phoboplasm, then applied to other NPCs afterwards (not just in plane of fear, but in kunark and velious faerie dragons as well). Anecdotally, it does seem like TT's dispel has a tighter radius than phobos do.

So something isn't completely correct, either the emote or the spell or ZAM's information. My guess is that TTs have a different, yet very similar proc to Phobocancel, at least as it stands on p99.
