Description
This dark elf spawns at the edge of the underwater tunnel outside the Kurrpok room after killing Kurrpok Splitpaw (Hollow Skull quest). He is a Necromancer or Wizard depending on current point in the timeline. He only spawns in the pre-revamp Infected Paw (Lair of the Splitpaw).

1) He is either level 24 or 25, and an undercon, hitting for 60-80dmg.
2) He spawns instantly after Kurrpock is killed, at the entrance to the underwater chamber, near the water line, blocking the exit. The below map has his correct spawn location ("necro/enchanter spawns here"):

2.5) After he spawns, he says to give him the gem: "Give me the eye of Kurrpok!" and waits for a moment before attacking. After some time he should path up the dungeon to the entrance, slaughtering newbies. He probably camped the zone in. Unknown if he despawned after some time or if you had to kill him.

4) If you hand him the gem you get from Kurrpok, he should give you opposite faction hits from killing him, and a bit of xp. He instantly despawns.
5) He starts out life as a Necromancer until late July 1999, then changes into a Wizard.
6) Occasionally drops high value gems (sapphire and star ruby were both mentioned, maybe others?) The Darkelf spawns right outside of the room with Kurrpock by the underwater tunnel. BE WARNED HE IS LVL 23 TO 26! and killed me when I was lvl 27. He drops some kind of braclet worth 70pp to the merchants and a Gossimor Robe both are rare drops.

Possible Quest Text and Experience for Turnin
I played a bard of Veeshan in a past life before, back before the lair of the Splitpaw had been taken over by the Tesch Mal.
Kurrpok Splitpaw, the boss of the dungeon, had a ruby eye (part of the ruby skull quest). As soon as Kurrpok died, a dark elf named Zixx Nenixx (or something like that) would appear outside Kurrpok's lair, and go on a killing spree, and quite literally kill every single PC and NPC in the dungeon, and then run out into South Karana.
And that's where things get interesting. I was down there with some friends (with my bard of Veeshan), and when Zixx spawned, he actually did a /cheer emote at me (I kid you not). I hailed him (he looked upon me warmly) and he said that if we wanted to live we should turn over the [eye]. I said "What eye?" and he said something to the effect of "Don't play stupid with me" and attacked us and went about the usual.
So anyways, the next time he appeared, I just went up and handed him the ruby. He thanked me for servitude to the ring and spouted off something or other about world domination, and I got half and orange bubble of XP (while grouped with 4 other people, we all got it), and a positive faction hit with ring of scale.
Anyways, just thought I'd mention that. Prior to the release of Kunark he was the only NPC I ever met that was on the Ring of Scale faction.

I of course scoured Qeynos, but was unsuccessful finding any scale followers, but it could certainly justify a cult as the original poster was talking about.

Zixx Nenix is a 25 dark elf wizard. in the OLD splitpaw dungeon, he would instaspawn the moment Kurrpok Splitpaw was killed (kurrpok himself had a placeholder too, killing the placeholder didnt spawn zixx). Anyway i used to hang out in the old paw to look for clues on the gnoll slayer quest, and once i hit 32 and figured out the whole spawn setup, i started soloing zixx nenix for exp and loot. then i saw the faction (im at work so this is out of memory): faction goes up with: MayongMistmoore Trakanon LeagueOfAntonicanBards CarsonMcCabe goes down with Ring of Scale.. thats it. yes you read that right, and no i didn't make some mistake. BOTH bards & mistmoore go UP. unfortunately, Paw is now a high level dungeon, and although kurrpok still spawns, he still spawns in the deepest part of the dungeon. not only that, but the new gnolls KOS him when he spawns. therefore the only way to try and use this would be to get a couple good groups in the deep cave in paw (about 12 spawns in there) and keep it clear.. supposedly if you kill kurrpok zixx still pops in the same place he used to. dunno if they changed his faction, but i doubt it.
Submited by: GrimWar On: 7/13/1999 4:03:02 PM It's not that even Kurpokk Splitpaw is bad (Around 15th level spellcaster), and not even the fact that there are usually 3 gnoll nobles around him. It's the fact that when you kill Kurpokk, a dark elf necro appears named Zix at the entrance to the area in which Kurpokk can be found.

Submited by: Craig Carlson On: 8/3/1999 6:04:11 PM ok guys just some info on Zixx. Zixx always spawns after Kurpokk dies, He is a lvl 24 spell caster (he cons white to me at 24). I have killed him many times and he has always seems to be the same lvl. He casts some nasty spells and I recommend a group of at least 2 lvl 24 to take em. [B]if you are a caster and kill kurpokk you can always gate and never have to face zixx. if you cannot gate, he usually leaves and patrolls the dungeon after a few minutes so if you sit and wait a while he may leave and you can get out without confronting him (if you are lucky )[/B] also if you find the area where Kurpokk spawns and he is not there you need to kill everything in the area and he should spanw.. anyways good luck

Submited by: GnollSlayer seeker On: 10/2/1999 4:09:15 PM The Ruby Pendant is dropped by Kurrpok Splitpaw as part of the Jeweled Skull quest that starts in W Karana from an NPC named Yiz Pon. Once you kill Kurrpok, Zixx immediately spawns and demands the 'eye' (Ruby Pendant). The other gem for the jeweled skull is on Lynuga the troll in Innothoule swamp. In the note Yiz Pon gives you before the Splitpaw Assassin kills him, it states the gem is called the Eye of Wu. Zixx does drop some pretty neat loot occasionally, tho.

We killed that kurrpok gnoll, and before we killed him, he said..."you cant have my eye" and then he drops the ruby penant. This has to be his eye, and when he dies he mentions something about his eye again. We found that if you give the eye (the ruby penant) to Zixx as he ask, it does nothing but give you exp, and make him go away. I am sure that Zixx is just here to make it hard to leave once you get the "eye". As for the rest of the quest, we have the sword and the "eye" (ruby penant) but really not sure where to get the book.

Submited by: Krun On: 10/5/1999 11:26:11 AM Zixx drops a star ruby occasionsally but not an eye. someone told me he drops a book from time to time but i dont think both pieces of the quest would be right in the same room. the gnoll and zixx spawn together...also note, the faction in this quest deals with the ring of scales..nothing else in splitpaw gives faction for Vox. not coincidence there either. For now its the best lead anyone has and as far as being for two quests? most everything has two or more quests now days.

Few days agao, after the slaying of Kurrpok, Zixx Resp and i tried to kill him. Zixx is now a Wizard. A powerfull wizard (like all named NPC).
Submited by: Munkey On: 9/25/1999 2:02:59 PM As for Zixx Nenix, he's only level 24 or so, but suffers (rather, gains from) DVinnitis. Meaning, he hits in the 60s-80s, and packs some rough spells. Good profit for killing him, though. Sometimes drops a sapphire, worth 80 plat to a merchant.
