Wife Faction

From Project 1999 Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Wife Faction in EverQuest is the Faction standing with your significant other in real life. This is, by far, the most important kind of faction in the game. Losing this faction could have very serious consequences including loss of time in game leading to lost opportunities, character deletion, and even permadeath. That being said, it is also the most ambiguous faction in the game with no hard set rules in how to gain or lose it. What may increase Wife Faction standing for one person may be incredibly detrimental for another. However, there are guidelines as to what tend to work and what doesn't:

Increasing Wife Faction

  • Wine questing
  • Food questing
  • Spending time offline
  • Getting permission for long raids
  • Telling your wife she's very, very pretty

Increasing Faction While Increasing Playtime A.K.A. The Holy Grail Quest

  • Elaborate Planning for a "Night out" with friends. Bonus points as a surprise.
  • While working long spawns, socking mobs or medding, **Fold Laundry** or **Vaccum** (you don't actually have to leave the computer so how can they argue?)
  • Run a bath for your significant other and encourage them to soak it up for a long session of peace and quiet.
  • If at scowling - Get up early with the kids and tell your wife she should sleep in. Semi-AFK yourself in the EC tunnel and work on building your platinum empire.

Decreasing Wife Faction

  • Playing long hours instead of spending time with them
  • Skipping family meals to raid
  • Playing long into the night and sleeping in
  • Playing. Period

Again these are just some general guidelines and caution should be taken when doing anything to modify Wife Faction. It should also be noted that wife faction quests should only be done back to back with extreme caution. Doing so can result in, at best, diminishing returns and at worst, negative faction and agro.
