Loc Maps

Hey There,

I noticed you put a lot of effort into the image for A_dark_ass`t_librarian, but in case you weren't aware, I wanted to let you know that the wiki has a system built-in for showing NPC locations, and it's described on the Loc Maps page.

For instance, if you go to an NPC like Jayla Nybright, in nearby Lesser Faydark, you'll notice that there's a "(Map)" link in their location field. When you click or mouse-over it, it shows a map of Lesser Faydark with a red X automatically drawn for Jayla Nybright ... and the wiki does this without anyone having to make a special image just for her.

So why didn't A dark ass`t librarian have this link? Because the zone Castle Mistmoore has not been added to the wiki yet. For each zone in the game someone has to work out the ratio between the image's size, and the loc points on the map (that link describes how). Once they do, every mob in that zone in the wiki gets the map link ... or at least every mob on that level (zones with multiple levels, like Mistmoore, have to "loc map" each level separately).

So, while I applaud your effort with that image, if you can either:

• A) follow that link about adding a zone, and use the instructions provided there to "map" Mistmoore (and then send the data to me, either via wiki talk like this, or by PMing Loramin in the forum), or ...
• B) add Mistmoore to the "desired zones" section on Loc Maps, and hope someone else does it (the wiki has several people who have helped with mapping, I'm not the only one). Maybe mention it in the forum if you want to "grease the wheels" and draw attention to it

Or of course you're welcome to keep making images per NPC ... but I just wanted to let you know there was a much more comprehensive solution possible.

Deleting Pages

Hello,

I appreciate you going through NPCs to confirm that they are not on P99, but do not clear out pages. You can mark these pages with {{delete}} tag and then admins can delete them as needed.

Additionally, if you want to upload NPC images please take pictures of only the NPC. Any selfie-style images will be replaced ASAP.
