It seems the forager bag rate has been nerfed. I used to get a forager bag almost every time I handed in a captain necklace, or at worst, at a rate of like 50%. But I have been trying to get one for a new character, and so far I've turned in 11 captain necklaces and still no bag. September 2023. Littlewind (talk) 16:04, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Confirmed quest working on green. Looks like the captain necklaces will randomly give you one of the four rewards (so not always the spear or bag), and that the regular troll slayers will sometimes drop the captain necklaces if you identify them. 7/2/20 green server -jhod

Excising a bit of verbiage regarding which faction/race combinations do not elicit a direct response from Marda for clarification of the text. However, this information might conceivably be of interest to someone so I'm storing it here:

She won't respond to anyone below level 5. She doesn't respond to a halfling rogue in dark elf illusion at apprehensive or sneaking indifferent faction. She doesn't respond to a half elf bard in dark elf illusion at amiable with faction song. She doesn't respond to a >L5 Troll Warrior of Dubious faction or a Dark Elf necro of Apprehensive, however the respawn command of "Where is Emissary Glib?" did work to spawn the frog. She responds to an Ogre warrior or shaman level 5 or higher and a troll shaman above level 5.
