Talk:Recommended Levels and ZEM List
ZEM Discussion
Misty Thicket: Listed at 75 bonus, killing DB guard gives 2-3% xp, FM also listed as 75 bonus killing DB gives only 1%.
How do I determine for sure the bonus so i can adjust this list?
What do the grayed-out rows in some of the tables represent? Jaggedpine, Warrens, and Stonebrunt are consistently all gray text. Is there a reason for this and can it be mentioned on the page?
Lake of Ill Omen (Green Server):
I killed several even con mobs in Lake and other nearby zones. In each case the xp gain was exactly the same, right to the pixel. In WW white cons were giving 1.2% per kill. If the 60 ZEM for Lake was accurate, I should have been receiving 1% but the Lake also produced 1.2% per kill. Edit: Further investigation using a new level 1 killing even con mobs in each zone proved that the xp gains for all zones surround Cabilis are the same, except for the city itself which gives 25% more.
Checking inside Dalnir, the xp received was roughly 30% more for an even con level 25 mob than the same level 25 outside in WW. Since WW is 75, Dalnir must be 100.

Experience points are opaque to the player (only experience as a percentage is visible with our UI), so you can't view precise gains directly. Since all experience gains are capped at 11% after bonuses and penalties you can't simply run around with a level 5 to every zone with a high level character assisting to test kill every NPC. You'd need a dearth of characters at every level range. Even then, I'm not even sure if NPCs of the same level necessarily give the same experience points or if that's another hand-adjusted value either. I expect there is no precise way to measure it. Maybe some exploit like packet sniffing could reveal this info but it's not something worth getting banned over. Cerate (talk) 17:02, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

I removed the rows for Jaggedpine from the tables since Jaggedpine is a post-velious zone (someone probably just copied a table from somewhere else with post-classic zones and reformatted it.) Cerate (talk) 17:09, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
I expect Warrens and Stonebrunt weren't released when this page was made but their gray-out tags are gone now anyway. Cerate (talk) 17:09, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
