Killed Quid on 10-4-2016 at about 7:20pm EST on Red Server. He was wandering right by the paladin camp from the South.

  • Confirmed he was wandering north between the Paladin and Orc camps, closer to the Orc camp. This was after a preliminary sweep clearing all of the trash, which may or may not have been related to spawning him. --Countytime (talk) 18:36, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

Killed Quid multiple times on [Wed Dec 06 03:54:46 2017] & [Wed Dec 06 02:14:25 2017] on Blue Server.

  • Confirmed spawning mechanics. --Jalico 6 December 2017

spawned on red

Quid spawned 8/4/2019. I first noticed him pathing west just north of Glaron the Wicked. I cleared all bears, fire beetles, skeletons, and lizardmen for about 2 hours before he spawned. He dropped the hood.

Green Server

December 2020

Have spent last three days attempting to learn and isolate the spawning mechanics for Quid Rilstone. I have managed to nab three spawns. I spent the first two days isolating the fire beetles and the 'a skeleton' as singular trigger spawn without success. While I did see him spawn on those days, in all three cases someone else was also there and killing everything so my trials were nullified. On the third day, I killed every fire beetle, a skeleton, decaying skeleton and brown bear that spawned everywhere in the valley, at times with such brutal efficiency that nothing was up. Here are my limited findings:

There is a lizard man scout spawn just north of the orc camp. It has always been a lizard man scout. There is a brown bear spawn in the trees to the south of the hill. It has always been a brown bear. Sometimes there is another brown bear spawn. This spawn I believe is the Quid PH revealing itself. There is never more than one of these PH bears up so I would guess that Nilbog modified the script to remove the multiple Quid spawn chance that used to happen, from the evidence of the Quid threads on forums. This PH bear, along with everything else in the valley, is on a 6-minute timer. The bear does not always spawn, even with every wandering mob down so on some rounds you will not see a second bear until another respawn cycle occurs and the PH is again given a chance to spawn. I have been attempting to find a specific spawn point for one of these random bears in the hopes of nailing down a single PH but as I have seen this bear throughout the valley while actively patrolling (and keeping the always-bear spawn on a kill timer), I do not think there is a single PH spawn point. Still, finding even one of these points would be a good start.

Pre-Nilbog patch threads mention that there are three areas that will instantly pop new wanderers when they are killed and that you merely need to rotate between these areas. This no longer appears to be true as I have several times cleared everything available with no new pops until the next 6-minute spawn timer came up. As a druid, the basilisk is a great charm pet for this task and kills everything quickly. Keep him away from the orcs however as they will aggro him and force you to waste time intervening.

The wiki page lists a spawn point for Quid. I have stood on this point for some time and a bear has wandered to this point as did a decaying skeleton. I have not been able to kill anything that would then spawn there on a timer. My guess is that it is a pathing node that the PH does wander--and I have seen Quid heading there--but it is not his spawn point. All three Quids that I have seen were either in or wandering away from the trees at the south side of the hill. Twice he was wandering uphill: once to the paladin camp and once between them and the orc camp. The third time he was heading west toward the grassy downs north of the gypsies. I believe Quid will always spawn at a specific point in the trees but his PH does not. Donkey Hotay (talk) 00:01, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Day 4

Managed to pop another 2 or 3 Quids (all had Man-o-war so they quickly faded from memory). I was killing everything at the time. I happened to see Quid spawn this time however! He was at approximately 2945,-1990 just north of the catapults. This spawn is not consistent with earlier sightings I had of him under contested spawn situations--in other words, he couldn't have wandered from this spot in time. My earlier conclusion that he spawns at a single point is discredited.

Based on this sighting and the fact that I was alone in Rathe Mountains at the time, I decided to risk isolating the 'a decaying skeleton' as the PH. This was fruitless as the second bear immediately refused to spawn thereafter and I tried maybe ten rounds before returning to the 'everyone dies' approach and the PH once again began spawning.

Incidentally, the always-bear spawn is at 2550,-1670. Donkey Hotay (talk) 21:29, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Day 7

I have seen the PH bear spawn at both listed Quid spawn points. Neither point has a wanderer that always spawns there, which suggests that the PH rotates from Quid's spawn points every 6:00 if he is killed. I have had no success spawning the PH bear while focusing on any one or two of the other three possible PH types so I can only assume that the PH could be a brown bear, a decaying skeleton, a skeleton, or a fire beetle. My best guess is that if you knew where all of Quid's spawn points were, you could AoE down everything in the valley and then watch those spawn points 6:00 later and kill the PH until Quid pops. For we mere mortals, just killing everything accomplishes much the same effect. I will edit Quid's description with a somewhat less ambivalent strategy to spawn him. Got him to spawn 4 times. It took me approximately 1,5 hours for each spawn. Was killing fire beetles, brown bears, Decaying skeletons and skeletons in the area. Didn't touch lizard man or orcs on top. He spawned 3 times east and 1 time west on the hill. The 4 spawns dropped 3 hoods and 1 hammer.
