"Fills your target's blood with poison, causing 150 damage initially and 214 damage every six seconds for 42 secs (8 ticks). Total (1862) & 4.38 dpm. " It says 42 seconds for the duration. Each tick is 6 seconds. 42/6 = 7. There should be 7 ticks and only 1648 damage if the 42 seconds is correct.
