Manik Compolten is located at 902, -470, -30 in the Gemchoppers (Warrior) Hall.

You say, 'Hail, Manik Compolten'

Manik Compolten says, 'Greetings, young one. I am Manik Compolten, High Watchman. Are you a [new warrior] or an [experienced fighter]?'

You say, 'I am a new warrior'

Manik Compolten says, 'It is always good to see new blood amongst the Gemchoppers. I have a small task for you. Take this keycard. I will give you only one at a time. Use each to obtain blackboxes for the C series clockworks. I am sure you are familiar with the clockworks. When you are done, bring them all to me. Let me know if you need another keycard.'

Give each Clockwork spider, located as follows, the Shiny Card you received from Manik Compolten:

  • Clockwork XIIC is located at 1314, -380, -80 on an island at the top of the waterfalls.
Clockwork XIIC says, 'Tic.. Pop.. Access Granted'

You receive the Blackbox XIIC

  • Clockwork XVIIC is located atop the wall just inside from the Steamfont Mountains entrance at 238, -46, 12 between 8pm and 6am, or at 2045, -354, -180 outside the entrance to the the Mines of Malfunction (evil Gnomes) between 6am and 8pm.
Clockwork XVIIC says, 'Tic.. Pop.. Access Granted'

  • Clockwork XXVIC is located at 762, -175, -54 in the Palace outside King Ak'Anon's room.

  • Clockwork XXVIIC paths between 1783, -385, -124 south of the paddle wheel, and 1988, -544, -182 in the Mines of Malfunction (evil Gnomes), stopping briefly at each location.

Return to Manik Compolten and hand him the 4 Series C Blackboxes.

Manik Compolten says, 'There are a total of four C series clockworks.'

Manik Compolten says, 'Ah!! I see you had no problem finding all of the C series clockworks. Good work. Here. Take this blackbox. We received it from Clockwork 27C. Take it to Jogl Doobraugh. He is the operator of the only blackbox definer in Ak'Anon. He is out at the windmills checking on their operation.'

Jogl Doobraugh says, 'Hellooo!! My name is Jogl, master engineer with the Eldritch Collective. And this here is Charlotte. Pay no mind to her, she won't bite unless you attack me.'

Give Jogl Doobraugh the Blackbox XXVIIC and he will return to you a Daily Log.

Jogl Doobraugh says, 'Hmmm. Here you go. Take this log to Drekon Vebnebber. He is the in-house merchant at Gemchoppers Hall. It is his duty to file away all these logs.'

Upon Handing Drekon Vebnebber a Daily Log, you will receive one of two responses, leading to follow-up quests, based upon which log Jogl Doobraugh gave you in the prior step.

Drekon Vebnebber says, 'Why, thank you. Hey!! This log indicates some messy business is going on at the scrapyard. Something happened to a group of gnomes. They never came out!! Go check out the scrapyard! I believe the rumors of [Red 5] are true.'

Drekon Vebnebber says, 'Oh my!! It seems two of the obsolete duster models were not fully shut down. You must find them. They could be anywhere in Ak'Anon!! After you destroy them, take their scraps to Sanfyrd Montop. He is the operator of the scrapyard.'
