No Rez Necessary is a Hardcore Permadeath seasonal guild which began and continues to thrive on P99 Red. This server has some special rules regarding clickies and EXP modifiers that both benefit the ruleset and introduce some unique challenges.
- +50% base XP
- +40% XP per additional group member
- PBAoE and TAoE abilities affect player characters.
- Projectiles such as bolt spells and arrows may unintentionally strike a friendly target.
- Mez on a friendly target may be broken by auto-attacking or dealing damage to that player.
- Attacking somebody with an active pet will put you on that pet's threat list unless their master uses the /pet back command.
The bonus XP on Red makes for faster leveling and easier re-rolling in the event of a death, but more difficulty in acquiring adequate money for spells and leveling your Defense skill.
The guild intends to start fresh and wipe progress on a seasonal basis so as to regularly emulate the feeling of starting over on a brand new server where everybody has to do it themselves the hard way. No more tunnelquest.
Seasons
The first season of EQ Hardcore started on June 17th, 2023 and is ongoing. This season will run approximately 6 months depending on raid progression. At the end of each season, all members who survived the challenge may either delete that character and start fresh for the next season, or move their characters to our upcoming non-seasonal guild.
Future seasons may last longer depending on any updated themes, rulings, and milestones.
Ruleset
- Death = Delete. Any items you have on your character (or in their bank) are lost when that character dies. It's possible to throw high value items on the ground, but recovery is not guaranteed. Deaths from griefing, PvP, unintentional disconnects, or game-breaking bugs may be appealed in our Discord server, preferably with video evidence.
- Only default items may be purchased from vendors, meaning the quantity in stock must be shown as (--).
- You may only loot what you or your guildmates kill. You cannot loot corpses left behind by anyone outside the guild.
- Our guild operates as its own closed economy; you can only trade with players who are also participating in the league.
- Druids and Wizards may only accept donations from their own guild members.
- You can not group with people who are not in the guild and you may not receive buffs from them unless they are only assisting you with PvP. It is your obligation to remove buffs given to you by a non-guildmate once that PvP engagement is over.
- Twinking is allowed only if all items involved are produced or acquired by a hardcore character.
- When your character dies, you have two options: Delete, or leave the guild. You may move that character to the <No Rez Fallen> PvP guild if you wish; it is a non-seasonal guild intended to safeguard seasonal league members from PvP griefing. Regardless of which you decide, this character can no longer group with or assist seasonal <No Rez Necessary> members in any way aside from PvP. Once PvP is over, any buffs you handed out must be removed and any assistance provided must end.

Raiding
We are currently building our roster to a soft cap of 52 to take on Nagafen and Vox, after which we intend to take on higher level raid content.
Discord
Our discord is open to all those interested in joining the league. If you're new and participating in the league, please create a new character and submit that character's name and location into the #need-guild-invite channel. An officer will invite you as soon as possible. Keep in mind that you are still allowed to participate in the challenge while waiting for an invite so long as you abide by the ruleset and reroll your character even if they die before level 5.
