Tadhg (pronounced TYE-GH, as in 'tiger') is an elven druid who hails from the treetop town of Kelethin in Greater Faydark. Thanks to his penniless existence, he spent a very long time running around without any pants. They don't let him into the taverns in Kelethin anymore for some reason.

Tadhg's Story

DISCLAIMER: None of this is actual EverQuest lore, not even in Project 1999. I just made it all up.

Tadhg is the eldest son of Ailean Barkingtree, a rogue, and Idolywen Songwater, a druid. He has two younger brothers named Aodhan and Dadian. His mother died when he was a child.

Idolywen, a powerful druid, was once held in great esteem by druids all across Norrath for her dedication to nature and Tunare, Mother of All. Unfortunately, she was perhaps too dedicated and at some point went astray from her path. She joined the Unkempt Druids and was caught plotting the downfall of the druids of Kelethin. Her radicalization and subsequent betrayal was a huge blow to the Soldiers of Tunare. The Heartwood Master, then a fairly young druid himself, chased Idolywen across Norrath and fought her in the Rathe Mountains with the help of her heartbroken husband, Ailean, and the other guild masters of Kelethin.

Heartwood Master triumphed, but only just. With her last breath, Idolywen placed a curse upon Heartwood Master and all involved in her death. Idolywen's body was returned to the earth and her great staff burned, but her dying curse lingered. From then on, the ones who had fought her were unable to travel far from home without becoming ill with some indescribable fear.

The curse on her staff was so potent, not even burning it diluted its power. Ailean was forced to hire the services of one of the evil priests of Innoruuk to seal the staff in a special box. He buried the box in an ocean far from his home in the hopes that no one would ever find it again. So far, no one has.

Tadhg has only distant memories of his mother. He, along with his brothers, were trapped in the house by hundreds of sturdy vines by their mother just before she fled to Antonica, as a form of protection so they would not have to become involved. Upon her death, the vines released the children.

Because of his mother, Tadhg was very leery of coming face to face with the elf that had killed her and being condemned as the offspring of an insane druid. In fact, he suspected he would be rejected from the druid guild outright due to family history and the fear that he would also become an Unkempt Druid.

He spent several years bouncing from guild to guild, trying to find a good fit but finding nothing he liked. Regren in the warrior guild was nice, but Tadhg soon grew bored with hacking at things. The rogue guild was not much better, though Tylfon did teach him how to be sneaky. Aodhan, who decided to become a rogue, tried to show his older brother the light, but Tadhg didn't have it in him to go around backstabbing things. The rangers were a bit too obsessed with fletching. The bard guild was all right, but it was quickly discovered Tadhg was tone deaf.

Eventually his friend, a young bard named Jakum Webdancer, grew tired of his constant bouncing and forced him to go to the druid guild, where Heartwood Master was waiting. All Heartwood Master said was, "I've been waiting for you to show up," and handed Tadhg a guild shirt.

And that was how Tadhg became a druid.

About Sorn, Tadhg's player

Previously played on Tholuxe Paells from around the beginning of the Kunark expansion up to the Ykesha expansion. Only made it to level 48ish in that time period, being an undedicated teenager at the time who preferred saying silly things over actually playing. Over ten years later, still a slow leveler but a bit less shy around strangers.

Sorn resembles a wood elf in person, enjoys watching nature documentaries, and is known for rescuing random wildlife. During a cricket plague in an old job, caught almost two hundred crickets single-handedly. Occasionally trains dogs. Sorn's rarely-used sarcasm can be lethal.

Sorn's gender is male only if you believe there are no women on P99.
