Checklist

  • Powder of Nok - Shaman Powder (be sure to use the spell Identify on it, it should identify as "Powder of Nok") comes from a "froglok nok shaman" in the north area of this zone. It looks like black pixie dust.
  • Heart of Ice - This is dropped by icebone skeletons and greater icebone skeletons. The skeleton tower located in the SE corner of LOIO is an easy place to farm this item quickly.
  • Ton Warrior Totem - This is dropped by various frogloks found in the froglok city in the Swamp of No Hope, and identifies as "Key of Dai -I.". Look for Ton and Krup frogloks holding a doll. They spawn apparently in several places but aren't very common. You can also get these in FV. Look for Ton Warriors holding a totem in their hand. SONH is much safer/lower level.
  • Sabertooth Tiger Mane - These drop off the sabertooth Tigers found in Lake of Ill Omen, the Overthere, and Trakanon's Teeth.

Walkthrough

You say, 'Hail, Luminare Pasinia'

Luminare Pasinia waves her hands as if to cast a spell. 'GREETINGS!! I am the Luminare of Firiona by decree of his royal highness, King Thex,I am here to research spells and artifacts. I have much to do. I welcome any enchanter who offers to [assist the great Luminare].'

You say, 'I will assist the great Luminare.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'And great I am, indeeed!! Alas, not great enough to be everywhere at once. I would gladly reward you if you would [collect components] for me.'

You say, 'I will collect components for you.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'Then go into the wilds beyond the outpost and upon your return, you shall give to me the powder of Nok, heart of ice. Ton warrior totem, and a sabertooth tiger mane. This shall earn you knowledge of an enchanter spell I recently scribed.'

Bring these items back to Luminare:

Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'

p99 notes

I recommend starting out in LOIO for lower level enchanters trying to do this quest. I also recommend being at least around level 30 if you are attempting this quest without assistance. (2023: 32 Enchanter: definitely difficult to get Powder of Nok at this level in FV due to many roaming yellow/red mobs that can see through invis)

  • Heart of Ice - Icebones are all around the lower 1/2 of the zone, don't waste your time on lesser icebones. The best spot to get these is off the Greater Icebone Skeletons at location 12 on the LOIO map.
  • Sabertooth Tiger Mane - There are many types of sabertooths in LOIO, be sure you are only killing a sabertooth tiger: the best spot to find them is just north of the windmill around (-1200, -3300)

Now that we're done in LOIO head on over the SoNH to work on finding the Ton Warrior Totem Follow the advice in this post. Note: 2023: camped this ledge area for over 4 hours and no "Ton" frogloks ever spawned. There are also occasionally Ton Warriors in FV that can have a totem (con yellow at level 32).

The final item is Powder of Nok and it is fairly easy to get by killing Froglok Nok Shaman in the Firiona Vie Leech Field. The dropped item is called Shaman Powder but it identifies as Powder of Nok.

While 3 of the 4 interim items are NO DROP, the final scroll is not. It is possible to do this quest on another character presuming Luminare is willing to speak with you. Confirmed by doing the quest on my ELF DRU. Confirmed doing this quest on an Iksar Monk with dubious faction.

Congratulations, you can now turn into a lizard! Just be sure not to use the illusion around the Firiona Vie residents.
