GM (noun) is either
- Game Master - A Project 1999 staff-member tasked with server development, administration, or customer service, or in the context of official live servers an employee of DayBreak (previously Sony Online Entertainment or Verant) who performed those roles. GMs often have access to tools, abilities and commands which assist with their duties. GMs on Project 1999 are unpaid volunteers. GMs (like guides) have green names over their characters' heads. Although GMs can make themselves invisible to /who commands, when they are visible, you can query for them with "/who all gm".
- Guild Master - Also known as a class trainer, an NPC which the player can interact with to train new skills or increase the values of existing skills. Guild Masters only interact with players of the corresponding class, and tell everyone else to get lost. Unlike vendors, Guild Masters will attack players with poor faction standing.
