FTE Race Lines

The Project 1999 Wiki is not maintained by the P99 staff and may contain inaccuracies between the emulator server, forums, live EverQuest, and reality. This is a wiki for a reason. Anyone can contribute (this means YOU!) If you see something that is inaccurate or can be improved, don't ask that it be fixed--just improve it. As they say on Wikipedia, be bold. |

Raid "Races"
While Project 1999 strives to be as classic as possible, it has raid rules which are unclassic. This is natural given that the server is a fan project and not a commercial venture.
On Project 1999 guilds and other raid forces race to claim popular raid targets. In order to ensure a fair race all raid forces wishing to race for a given mob must begin at or behind "FTE Race Lines" when the raid mob first spawns. Characters in front of the race lines when the mob spawns (including "tracker" players) must leave the zone and return before they are allowed to race for that raid mob.
Trackers
Guilds are allowed two "trackers" per zone (or per wing, inside Temple of Veeshan). If they exceed this limit at the time a raid target spawns they are disqualified from that target.
Anyone with your guild tag counts toward the two tracker limit. That includes people not racing for FTE, or people AFK somewhere in zone, or people in an XP group who don't intend to join your raid, etc.
Disqualification
Engaging a mob your guild is disqualified from will result in a GM deleting any loot obtained, plus a forced concession which prohibits you from contesting the next spawn (if you engaged but did not kill the target) or the next two spawns (if you engaged and killed the target).
Natural Spawns
If a mob spawned naturally when your guild had more than two members past the line you are disqualified from engaging that target, unless your entire raid force:
- leaves the wing if in Temple of Veeshan; or
- returns to the blue pad if in Veeshan's Peak; or
- was in Plane of Hate and actively clearing when Innoruuk or a mini spawned.
In any other instance you remain disqualified from that target and may not engage it until it respawns naturally, or an earthquake occurs.
Earthquakes
If an earthquake occurs when your guild has more than two members past the line then your entire raid force must:
- leave the wing if in Temple of Veeshan; or
- zone out if in any planes; or
- return to the FTE line if in any other zone.
You are then free to engage any targets without disqualification.
FTE Lines
The following FTE race lines have been established and are current as of thread (May 21, 2019).
These define the closest points that FTErs or raid forces can stand while waiting for a target to spawn. Anyone past these lines are considered "trackers".
Guilds are free to set up their raid force elsewhere if they so choose, but they must be further back than the defined lines.
